Power Tools and Horchata

(Pilon, Golfo Dulce, Costa Rica)

Our friends in the Bahamas told us, and it’s true through and through – cruising is boat maintenance in exotic locales. As much as Greg may whine about this undeniable fact, he loves it. Absolutely loves it. So much so, it took him less than a week to bust the power tools out and start back on the boat to-do list.

Today’s to-do was a little light carpentry work to reinforce the floor boards in the starboard bathroom. (Yes, bathroom, not head. To me it’s still just a bathroom.)

And although we were flush with fresh produce we were headed out of Golfito today and had to go back to our favourite restaurant. Favourite not only for their tasty casado meals, but also for their delicious, milkshake-meets-eggnog-meets-Central America, horchata!

Hasta luego ketchup, hola Lizano! A delicious Costa Rican condiment typical of any restaurant table.
